I am looking to buy a couple full grown meat birds to try.i live in the Sanford n.c. area.any info would be very helpful.I raise birds for eggs but haven,t tried for meat yet.

Are you looking for live birds? Is what you want to "try" is the whole slaughter and butcher thing? Or by "try" do you mean "taste"? If it is the first, you might try going on Craig's List and just look for someone looking to rehome an unwanted rooster. Often they are out there and free if you want to see what it is like to do the deed. I considered doing that before ordering my first batch of meat birds, but I decided to just jump off the deep end and order the chicks.

I mean try the whole slaughter andbutcher thing.I remember doing it as a child but that was long ago.didn,t want to buy a big group of birds since I,m not sure how good at this I will be.

If you have any poultry auctions in your area, check them out. I always see them there, most have bad legs, but you can still get the same experience
