My chickens have Marek's, we have had about 20 or so die this spring & summer, even had one die today.
I am very upset about it as I am fairly new to chickens and didn't know something like that could happen.

I'm wondering if I could buy the mareks vaccine and hatch or buy day old chick's and give them the vaccine and they would be ok..?
What are the chances they would still get Marek's?
And would I still need to keep them inside for as long as possible?

Thanks

I just read an article stating that vaccinated birds give Marek's disease to unvaccinated birds, so that would mean all my other chickens would get it and die..

I really hope this isn't true.. People need to be more informed about Marek's before getting chickens because if I would have known I would have only bought vaccinated in the first place!!
I don't know why hatcheries don't recommend the vaccine for small backyard flocks because that's what I have and my chickens still got it!
