The bird in the first photo is a Himalayan Monal (Impeyan Pheasant) male.

My son was right! I'll have to let him know, he'll be so pleased with himself. LOL. I'm acquainted with our wild phesant here in WA, but boy howdy, that's some bird!

I love the photos you selected. I have never seen the Himalayan Monal Pheasant before, but I am quite familiar with the beautiful wood duck, because wood ducks visit the wetlands near my house often.
