Many years ago, @sumi, a former well-respected and dearly loved staff member, told me that photos in landscape mode worked best for most BYC things. Stuff like the calendar, article cover photos, and featured content, like the POW (picture of the week). After she told me that, I started taking more pictures in landscape format.

This helps a lot because I keep having trouble with my phone pictures posting sideways and it never works right because the pixels are off. Maybe that's the issue.
