I'm still here! Slowly unpacking and putting things away. Just taking my time so I don't get overwhelmed.

Before moving, I did a complete Lumberjack afghan (from crochetville.org). The afghan/pattern is AWESOME!! I finished the entire afghan in about 12-14 hours. (not all in one sitting, though, but total hours). I also finished a ripple afghan for my oldest dd 21st birthday and after doing the Lumberjack, started a ripple for my 7yo daughter and it's about 35% complete.

I do owe everyone pics and I will post them later today. We have new power cords for our laptops and I have unpacked the camera already

Oh, and I'm still working on dh to let me get 2-3 bantams to live indoors (in a cage, not loose lol). He thinks I'm nuts, but I really want them badly and I know they won't be any more trouble than having any other caged animal (rodent or bird) in the house.

Be back later today with photos!

sorry skand, well you know what i mean, don't work toooo hard. just let it flow.

well I am going to try to finish my SS project well some of it, and then start getting the boxes labeled to go out and work on some more dishcloths, maybe start my spring swap stuff as I still haven't decided on a shape just yet. I like the hexagons and pentagons they work up really fast, hey SE do we have to stick with one shape or can we make as many different kinds as we want? I would like to challenge (sp?) myself its time around and try a few new things. well I am going to go work on hooking up some bandages for all the sorry fingers and pride seats so that they can get healed up good and well.

I have to look in to hanging some kind of solar powered lights out in the hen barn to increase their daylight light hours and maybe start getting some eggs as at the moment they have gone on strike. NO eggs for a week now. then I have to go walk the fence line in the pasture and see where I want to start on putting up a 3rd strand of wire to keep my juggeared honky headed horse in. and then I will work on getting those pics took of my new additions to the family and my newly remodeled hen barn. so I have a busy day ahead. hope ya'll have an enjoyable sunday, and try not to get any more booboo's now. I can only hook those bandaids up so fast now!

well take care and I will chat with ya gals later Maw.

good morning. Aww, thanks Skand and Maw for coming to help.

Skand, I think you need a cape, like superwoman!

Finger is doing better...looks like a mad squirrel or chicken came in the night and tried to chew off a corner and I can't feel anything really with the tip yet. Oh well. It's healing.

I might even coax it to work with a hook today.

hope everyone has a nice cozy day - it's grey and cold here. So, gonna sip hot chocolate and write - (my other passion is writing...DH says it's like breathing for me...I think he's right)...

ya!

hope your finger is better Shanah!!
hey SE do we have to stick with one shape or can we make as many different kinds as we want?

nope, anything goes...mix 'em up, make 'em all the same, your choice. Any colors, any yarns, any shapes, any sizes, challenge yourselves!!!! You will find the circles the fastest I think but the hexagons are the most interesting looking. There are alot of free patterns on the internet for hexagons and circles and triangles..many off the lionbrand site..in fact those are easy if you want to start with them to learn, I think they are labled wash cloths or dish cloths, forgot which but there are several on that site.
I forgot the exact dates of the swap. Maw has that info to post later when sign-ups open again but go ahead and get started if you have time then you can make some of each.

The Secret Santa sign up ends next saturday and you will get your assigned person the following day so if you want to be a part of that, go ahead and sign up this week or make sure any of the other hookers you think might be interested get signed up this week. Make whatever you want, no crochet required but MUST be home made..or at least the bulk of it home made. I'll post the sign up and rules a few more times this week to catch the stragglers. Should be fun!!!! I will probably save mine till Christmas morning but feel free to open your gift anytime you want....and post pictures please!!!!!!

SIGN UP CLOSES ON NOVEMBER 15TH!!!!!

SECRET SANTA PROJECT!!! SIGN-UP OPEN!

Please do not feel obligated just because you belong to the crochet swap! NO OBLIGATION!!!

Rules:Sign - Up Closes: November 15th

Secret Santa Items: Must be a HANDMADE item of reasonable cost or investment. For example .... if I were to crochet a long scarf out of nice yarn and add a spider ornament to that, I would think that would be a nice gift...if I made a record bowl with the crocheted washcloths and the music cd and music soap like I plan to make for my co-workers, that would seem like a nice gift to me too...you all are talented and what you make does not need to cost much, just be thoughtful about it and it will mean the world to whoever gets it, I'm sure

Only after or during shipping are you to reveal to the person that you are their Secret Santa!!

In my family, we draw names for Christmas because we have such a huge family. I got my oldest brother/his wife's name. He works in Iraq and is terribly hard to come up with ideas for. So I made him this:

Thanks Maw. Nice to know they arrived all safe and sound. When you said stuck to the postlady's seat I had an awful visual though...

Well, I've had a pork roast in the crock post all day, swimming amongst tomatoes, oregano, onions and garlic. Smells awesome and has been done for a while. Guess I will have to take my salt-dough creations out of the oven long enough to bake some biscuits...

Have a great rest of the weekend, ya'll!!

haha yall have gotten so much done today. Me on the other hand, not so much. Made the mistake of going grocery shopping at wal-mart after church. UGHHH First off, everyone else decided to go too.
Second, I'm so used to going with just Caydence, while Alyssa is at school, so I spent most of the time dodging two sets of hands putting everything in the basket. Three buggies and three hours later, I made Jim unload the van. Even the sherriff gave serious thought to a police escort to get my terribly loaded van to the house.
Well I did get a few lines done on my shawl at church. Everyone loved it. And I made a decision about it, since it's the first one (and kinda off-sized) I'm fixing it for Ms. Naomi, and I'll make the pastor's wife a blueish shaded one.
SS.. I still haven't gotten an idea yet on what to make, I'll prolly find out who I get, and then go from there. Who needs something made form wood? That way, I can make Jim do it for me, hahahaha
