Oh! Baby chicks! I love getting those boxes! It's like your birthday and Christmas rolled into one! LOL

Maw ~ so sorry to hear about the water leak. I'm not worried about a refund. You just send those boxes out however you can. You've been kind enough to host this swap and patient enough with everyone. I'm sure everyone will be just fine with whatever box you send them in. It does sound like you put a lot of time and effort into making those boxes look extra nice. Even though we won't get those, I want to say thank you for thinking of us in a special way.



Hello to everyone else! It's another very chilly morning here. Temp of 30*, but feels more like lower 20s. BRRRRR I'm so not ready for cold weather.


Today will be spent cleaning house. My house is a disaster area and I really need to get some stuff done. Laundry being one of them. Mt. Washmore is starting to grow again. If I don't deal with it today, I'm afraid it will explode soon.

Well we finally went above freezing at 10 am... 34* lol
I'd lend you a mop and mop bucket Maw!
I end up washing my floor more often in the winter than summer. Never think to check my drainline in the mornings, and half the time it's frozen. Always blows after I walk out of the room.

Apparently, Alyssa's been telling everyone at school about her animals. Her teacher, speech teacher and principal all were asking ..'what's this about the game rooster?' and "What's this she was saying about an owl?" lol I don't think we actually had a meeting, think I was just there to cooberate her stories.


YAYYYYYY CHICKS !!!!!!!!!! Just like giving birth, you wait so long you can't stand it. All the pain and agony, when it finally gets here, you can't remember any moment of it. Aren't they cute! and they smell sooo.. uhh... nvm lol

they are soooo adorable

I just have issues with my post office, twice they have put a package in a key box and failed to put the key in my box, one was a library book that ended up being overdue by the time I got the notice that it was there - and I asked them three times to check to see if I had a package from the library and the library had called to ask them to check too, two weeks after the last time I asked them to check I get a note letting me know I need to use the key for box Q that they had placed in my box a month earlier

The library book had been there for a month

I also get mail for the people that have the boxes around mine all the time, the key for box Q probably ended up in another box.

Sad to hear about the pipes Maw. Natalya uses my addy too, I'll send you some more postage since you are sending two boxes.
Both my girls want me to make them hobo bags, I am thinking I might take inspiration from SE's spring swap creation

and create bags for them from the swap squares

almost forgot, not sure of what to make from Natalya's interview yesterday, it was only 2 minutes long and she was told we'll give you a call in two weeks

So my dad is going to talk to his top supervisor and see if he can request the girls for the other areas that he supervises. Sea World has some kind of policy that relatives cannot work in the same area????

Mt. Washmore is starting to grow again

LOL!!!! I have one of those too!!! Trying to get caught up today on the house cleaning and get my skinny fiber optic tree up before my daughter comes home and pitches a fit for another giant "real" tree!!! She whined so much last year my DH took her to our land in another county and came home with a huge HOLLY tree..yes, holly, prickly leaves and all ..ugliest tree I've ever seen, way too big for my den and those leaves make you forget you love Jesus when you step on them barefooted!!!! Soooo, I have to have a tree up before she gets home next week!!

Shanah those babies are so healthy and big!! Lucky you!! Very cute and I love the smell too and the peeping!!!

Maw, don't worry about those boxes, as Steph said, the effort is greatly appreciated. The boxes I used last year were way too small, for the spring I will order those flat rate ones that are 12x12x8 and they should be a good size.

Amy, Maw is looking for pre-interest in a critter swap I believe she is thinking about running after the first of the year. Sounds like she should have a few interested so ya'll can look forward to that.

SE, I can't commit to the Spring Swap just yet.

I have a baby blankey to finish, an afghan, dish clothes, and sock monkeys. Life is so busy right now. I'm trying to get my critters organized b/c winter is coming cold and fast. Gosh, I also have lots of unfinished house projects I want to tackle.

If I can't do the swap I'll still hang out when I can.

I just want to say that all you ladies are sooooo talented and such an inspiration to me. Maybe one day I'll be a "Fast Hooker" to.

I'm so slow right now. I only have time at night and I'm sooo tired that I only get a few rows done to the baby blanket.

Risu your new babies are just adorable!!!!!! Awww, I want some! "Look away, look away!!!!!!" Oh, don't mind me I'm just talking to myself......... that is just me telling myself to be good, b/c I can't get any more chickens or turkeys until I have decent housing worked out for the ones I already have.

Hehe!!!!! They do look so healthy. What breeds are they? Your rare one looks like it might have muffs & and beard....does it?

It's cold here...in the 20's, but at least the sun is out today.

Ok, lots to do. House work (lots), car pool, Girl Scout meeting, w/ juggling evening critter care & then go see Twilight tonight w/ a bunch of teenagers. Boy, it's going to be a mad house.
