Hello Everyone,

I just stopped in to catch up and noticed(sp) I was on the fall swap list. I'm sorry but I wont be able to join in on this one. I was looking to join one at a later date though. I just don't have the time to devote to it this time around. I have a 4 week old grandbaby in the house as well as canning for winter, building my chicken coop, tending our garden , and the second grandbaby due in December. WHOA! I'm tired just thinkin' about it all...LOL

I will try to catch the next one for sure. By the way, everyone is making beautiful squares. I love seeing your nice work in here.

Thanks. That's what I thought you meant but I didn't know it was worsted weight. I have used it for dishcloths and loved it. I will check back in the thread because I didn't see any that I thought looked like the peaches and cream yarn/thread.

OOOOhhhhhh...

So all the squares in this swap won't be the same yarn?

I'd a goof...I just assumed ww acrylic would be the "basic" yarn and all the squares would be made with it....

Guess I shouldn't just assume things lol

Here are my cotton worsted weight purple squares..the ones on right are finished, the left has one row left to be done...

The color theme is scrap bag, so there is no telling what kind of yarn everyone will use.

I have to tell ya, I really like the worsted also. I used it for the last swap and like Scrambled said, it really does make nice squares. The squares are nice, thick & stiff and just lay nicely.

Leepsy, the yarn will have it on it's label if it's worsted or not.

The purple and the brown in the sunflower pattern that I'm using is worsted yarn (acrylic), but I have no idea what the bright colors are b/c they lost their label a long time ago. The bright colors are thinner, soft & wimpy. I've just been playing around w/ my yarn stash at home, but plan to try to find some bright thicker yarn.

Scrambled, I love the color combo of those squares. I love the color purple! Very Nice!!!!! How do you like using the cotton yarn?

I love the cotton!!! Sooooo easy to work with and the squares are shaped so nicely with it. That is the veriagated and the solid purple in those squares. I also have some red and some veriagated christmas cotton I will make also...make sure if ya'll make extras to make the exact number of extras as there are people..ie: 23 people in the swap, then make 46 squares and so on...otherwise more Maw will be pulling her hair out trying to make the count right!!!

Those sunflowers are very nice squares...and alot of work!! We will appreciate those Kim!

I'll take you off the list Lewis and please feel free to re-join if it fits into your schedule..after all sign up doesn't officially close unitl sometime in September and then you should have 6 or 8 weeks (forgot!) to get the squares done..so you are welcome back anytime

I do love to work with the cotton. I make a lot of dish/wash cloths with it and have a pattern for a tote bag I hope to make soon.

For me, though, the WW acrylic is just the "basic" that (I think) everyone is "talking about" when they work on a project.

Pretty blocks!

I'll get a pic of mine up tomorrow.

And you WILL share that tote bag pattern too right?!! LOL!!! Maybe a link to it or scan it in? See..now you know..this group will jump on a teaser so spill those beans girl, lol!!!! We love tote bags!! hahaha!! Even hippified ones!!! lol!!

Have a great day ya'll!!!
