AAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAA! Ok... I laughed cuz you said not too. LOL.

I love the detail you put into the eyes. Gonna give one tip on faces. Ok, more than one
1) eyes are always center.
2) eyes are always space with one eye length in between... if you understand what I mean. You should be able to fit a 3 eye in between the two eyes of the same size perfectly.
3) nose, outsides of the nose should line up with the inside corners of the eye, half way between mouth and eyes
4) mouth halfway between chin and nose, with the corners of the mouth lining up with the pupils.

NOW, this is just rule of thumb with room for differences since we know that faces don't always match up to this...

Reference... I pulled these off a HOW TO site. There is a more detailed explaination, but these 5 pics really just tell it simply. These were also the basic rules that I learned in art classes in middle school... SO LONG AGO! Yup... 25 years ago.

Hey, guys.

Anyone know how to use Speedpaint? I want to use that so dadgumn bad, but I don't know... 1) where to get it 2) how to use it, and 3) how it works

I see youtube videos, and I see them using this fancy-schmancy thing, and I am like "Duuuuh... what?"

Help? Please...?

There is no such program as Speedpaint. You are confusing people making recordings of their artwork process with digital painting software.

I am actually not very great at all at drawing realistic humans. I'm so sorry. Your drawing is probably better than I can do. Totally serious! You are doing an ok job of placing the features correctly, but I would work on defining the form of the head more. Here is a drawing (not mine) that illustrates what I am talking about. Notice the construction lines that are used to build the drawing? Those are a good guide line for almost every mark you make. Try to draw things like hair and eyebrows in a way that will define the form of the face and head. Always think about how things are working in 3D space. Maybe you can draw your next head from a 3/4 perspective, similar to the drawing below, to help you practice with this. Also, try to lighten up on features such as the philtrum to avoid any confusion with a small mustache! Keep up the good work!

So... how do people do this:

This video was made using three programs:

A digital art program like Photoshop or Gimp to do the drawing.
An image/video capture software like Camstudio to capture the drawing progress.
A video editing program like Premier to speed up the video capture.

The final creation is then uploaded to YouTube and often called a "Speed Painting".

Wow, that you tube vid was really annoying to watch. I only made it about 3 minutes in... To darn much flashing... I don't know how to explain it, but my brain and eyes didn't appreciate the constant ... What ever...
