I don't like them either, they are boring and create a ton more work, but if they are used correctly, everything looks exact and you can throw out some pretty amazing drawings.

ohh and I love your drawing, I'm just saying that if you really want to make something truly realistic, you should take the time to try out a grid. It will seem to take forever, but it will be worth it in the end.

Draw them as lightly as possible and then earase them as soon as your done with the outline. I know I shared them before, but I'll attach a couple of pictures that I used a grid for, can you tell?

Oh I absolutely LOVE Slenderman, even though it's freakin' terrifying. But GAH, so awesome... XD my good friend Edwahd (as I like to call him) got me into it. XD
