Hi all Guinea lovers!! I have 14 coral blues, just shy of 4 months old. It's "winter" here in central SC, so is it still a good idea to let my peeps out to free range now? They have been in their large coop since early November. I see them flying well in the coop and know they are ready to eat any bug that moves! They are eating a lot of feed, about 25 lbs a week, and I still have them on game starter. When should I switch to adult game feed? Anyone have suggestions, they are all welcome!!

I have 44 guineas ranging from age 1 1/2 to 3 mo old. All of the older ones have been free ranging since they were about 3 mo old. They have a coop they come into at night to eat. Be sure and do not leave food out during the day only at night. I do this because we do have predators! The coop in surrounded by a large coved predator proof pen. I never let my peas out. The guineas do not like ice or snow so I keep them cooped up then.

I have a similar question to the one above. I had 11 Guineans and between selling and predation have just 3, 3 is fine but I've had to keep them penned now as they are just too few and the foxes spotted the flock. I'm wondering if I should get a couple more or would additions be too stressful? and set up a large chicken tractor I'm thinking since I don't know if they'll like being locked in with the chickens.
Have you posted your question elsewhere and gotten any responses as yet? To date, my guineas till sleep in the trees but where I am the predators are fewer at my property since I only live on an acre and it is fenced for the most part. Still have't seen any raccoon or coyotes and only spotted 1 owl so far. I haven't added any more guineas as yet either. Still a little leery as the guineas are for the intruder alert and my chickens come first in priority.

Hi to all of the guinea lovers

Twelve years ago we hatched out a few guineas and enjoyed them very much, for about a year, until dogs got them. I wasn't going to get more until I fix up a pen and could tend to them better. I am now retired and can get my poultry hobby going. This spring I would like to again hatch out guineas. I am looking for a contact or two that have a mixed color flock that would sale me some eggs. I am not particular about any one color and would prefer a mixed flock of any color hatched.

Yes there is and after I have posted 20 time to other forums on this site I can post to it. Only have to post 6 more times, then they will let me post there.

You will probably have better luck posting this in your home state thread in the "Where am I? Where are you!" forum.
