Good day! This is "Chicipoo", I am totally in love with backyard chickens.com! I am a newbie to anything regarding chickens but when I got my new farm I decided to carry out my dream of having chickens and soon to come sheep, etc. I have searched the internet near and far and almost always came across this site! Like 98% of the time. I have been researching everything I can about chickens for two months knowing that is when our farm supply store was getting in day old chicks so I could be totally prepared for what was to come. I find this site extremely user friendly (mobile site), easy to understand (like no long complicated words without definition etc) and the pictures and personal stories make it even better. So far there isn't any one thing I haven't found an answer on. Then it got better…you can be a member! Now with the forums and everything else I really can most definitely find an answer to any question. That one thing that just an owner of chickens would know, that's not if it isn't already answered for you when it was asked by someone else! I am on day two of my 10 laying chick babies, and they are doing great. A lot of people all have their own advice if you want it or not (like when you are pregnant, lol). However, I find that with this site if there are several people saying the same thing it makes me feel than I am actually making the correct decision. Sorry for the novel I just had to extend my gratitude to BYC.com and all of the users. I say freely post cause you never know what you say just might be what someone needs to know to even potentially save a flock.
