Well I just read the article - and more interestingly, the comments section. Seems to be a mix-bag... but encouraging that maybe 40% of the comments were supportive. On the discouraging side... wow! there appeared to be a lot of comments that had been removed for being "abusive".
Just how can some people get that worked up over a chicken next door?
And the folks implying that some how small well maintained and cared for personal chickens are somehow a harbinger of a bird flu epidemic while totally discounting the deplorable conditions where their eggs come from is disappointing. Seems to me it would be more logical to ban commercial eggs if that's their concern... but of course the politics of fear and prejudice is seldom logical.
