BYC Member Interview - 007Sean

Wonderful. Must have been something to run up the show ranks like that!
BEAUTIFUL birds. I recall another thread where someone said you should post pictures of some of your birds, now I know why.

It isn't too hard to stay out of the water when you have aquariums. Though not entirely, must have to get your arm in there sometimes. I assume you've not populated the tanks with Sculpin or Lionfish. That reef tank is gorgeous. I can't imagine the effort it takes to keep the coral doing so well.

Two questions:
  1. Do you have a Comanche name?
  2. Did you have chickens when you joined BYC?

You beat me to it Blooie! Darn, you win
You've been Blooied @N F C!!!!! Happens to me all the time, she's just too fast.

No, no poisonous fish. Catfish are deadly enough! Salt tanks aren't that difficult if you practice BIOSECURITY, and have a sound knowledge of water chemistry and species relationships in a closed loop glass box.
Question 1: Yes
Question 2 : No

  1. I gather you don't want to share your Comanche name. :( But that is your business.
  2. Curious then why you joined a site named Backyard Chickens if you didn't have chickens!
Regarding the tank, how do you make sure the coral is fed? Can't be quite the same as shaking a container of TetraMin over the surface like I do for my fresh water fish.

1. Ok, your gonna make me tell you my name!
Tuhuya Oha?pi translation Yellowhorse
2. The reason I finally joined, was because I had been lurking in the pheasant and quail forums for quite sometime, and couldn't respond to some of the post that were down right inaccurate in the answers that were given....just couldn't "holdback" any longer. I'm not an expert but having raised thousands of quail and pheasants, I do have some knowledge/experince of what's required to successfully raise them...and at one time, was pretty successful with chickens too!
Regarding my tanks, I spot feed my corals. Very finely chopped shrimp, pieces of fish, yeast, brine shrimp, and cultured phytoplakton. My filtering system is the key to great water quality, it's 3x's the volume of the main display tanks (each tank). And as I said, understanding the relationships, ecology, biology of the species your attempting to keep in a "closed loop" system.
