When we were young a 2 acre island in the boundary waters just outside Ely went up for sale, we bid on it and won, then it got into a fight over was it US or Canadian, so we withdrew our bid. We were in Germany at the time and just too hard to manage from afar. In hind sight I have no idea what we'd of done with it, but we were young...

There is an Island here on the Sacramento Delta that is used to raise pigs! Actually the owner thought the pigs would clean off the vegetation. It turns out that pigs are too picky of eaters though. Should have used goats

That would not work up here, pigs can walk off the island by walking on water 8 months of the year.
