Oh and how I am reminded I live in the south. . Leaves won’t be changing until late October or November. I am still baking in the sun and the high is in the 90s. But winter is coming because the rain is getting worse. How cold is it up there?

Ditto here, nights are cooler in the 60s but days are still 80s with high humidity (oh my awful Sept. hair ).
Sometimes just 100 miles north will get gorgeous red, yellow & orange leaves but here they'll stay green then trees will suddenly just be naked in Nov.

While an orb weaver, this is actually a Yellow Garden Spider, aka, Writing Spider.

This is a Golden Orb Weaver.

Here in Mass it’s getting to the lower 60s and 70s during the day.

Today was one of the warmer days, mid 70s and sun.
