All mine are brown to cream colored and fairly easy to candle.

I don't know what I'm going to do when I get Marans . . .it'll make me bonkers not to be able see in the eggs.

One solution to that is finding some chicks at the feed store no need to hatch lol.

Correction, anything under 5x the number of chickens originally wanted is considered a few.

That's how I ended up with all the ones I have now. I went in looking for specific breeds and came out with everything but the ones I went in for.

I blew past a few and landed in the 'holy crap that's a lot' category pretty quickly.

Same. I was planning on getting 5 and any more will be way too complicated, then things escalated and i ended up with 15, then decided i needed to hatch more chicks and hatched 2 more, and now i have 19 egglets in the incubator I definitely need to double the run space or the chickens will go nuts as they are already in the process of doing lol.
