I have a hen I want my rooster to mate with, be doesn't give her a second glance. So annoying...

She is a 3 1/2 year old polish and might as well not exist, for how much interaction I've seen.

My roo is a 9 month old Silverudd's Blue. He mates with a welsummer and olive egger that are his age and the 3 1/2 old easter egger, and orpington.

LITERALLY, the 2 I wanted to cross breed are the two he isn't mating. The Polish and the Ameraucana.

My Americauna is the one that will chase him off and peck him. She has never had a fertilized egg. She is also much larger than he is. Lol.

Just because you aren't seeing it, doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I saw my black Barnyard mix breed my girls regularly, so I assumed the majority of the chicks would be black. When I hatched I was dumbfounded by how much my other male 'got around' he was just more covert about it.

Have you seen the Penedesenca eggs? Mine are end of season, so lighter than typical. Also, they are heat hardy, so I am hoping there is less of a lull in the summer heat.

How do you know? Did you incubate the eggs? Crack it open and look for signs?
