BYC's 2025 Spooktacular Halloween Hatch-Along

Ok, I repositioned the rollers and tilted the front of the incubator up a bit to, hopefully, counteract the forward motion the rollers seem to cause. :fl

I'll check them again at 10/11p before bed and see how things look. If they continue to push forward I'll candle them and see if they look viable and add them to the other two incubators.

That’s how I ended up there. I needed to peak to see how much water was in the bottom cause this humidity is stressing me and I was like well since I’m in here haha. I just grabbed two then shut it back up. Hopefully later I can see more clearly cause idk what I’m looking at truly.
It'll be a bit more obvious in a few days. I was wondering the other day if you used a stethoscope if you could hear anything in the egg before the internal pip, lol.

Does you incubator have a digital display?

Yeah, a digital display. It was saying around 58-60 percent so I tried taking some water out but it plummeted. So I tried adding just some water in but couldn’t see how much I had in. I decided i might just risk letting it sit a tiny bit higher cause at least that way it’s consistent.

I had the same trouble when I tried a traditional hatch the last two times. It drove me bonkers. That is why I'm trying a dry hatch. The three incubators I have running have been consistently in the 20% range. If I get half to hatch from the first two incubators I'll be doing better than my previous hatches.

I'm not counting the third since it's giving me trouble with the eggs bunching up. I'm considering those 'incubator testers' if they hatch one will be named Miracle.

that’s where I’m at already, over it! Haha. Trying to not stress it and just let it do its thing but easier said than done.
Fingers crossed they do make it but miracle would be the cutest name for a special hatch.

Just wait for the little peeps, it'll be worth it, lol.

This is just annoying. In roughly 7 hrs they're at the front of the incubator again. It just doesn't make sense. If you have open the incubator regularly to rearrange the eggs I might as well be turning them by hand. View attachment 4232096
Just thinking out loud here but what if you used something like a hot glue gun or a rubber band to place bump lines every couple of inches along the roller tubes so the eggs cannot get past them. I'm thinking something like speed bumps on roads that slow down traffic.

I thought about using something like foam tape, but I'm not sure the adhesive would hold up in the heat of the incubator.

I just checked them and they're still moving forward. Time to candle and see what's going on in side. It's just a bit over 24 hrs since I put these in, but they're smaller, so I'm hoping to see some signs of life :fl

Either way I'll probably split these up between the other two incubators. This is where I'm glad I didn't get ahead of myself and fill any of them up, otherwise moving them wouldn't be an option.

Heat shouldn't bother rubber bands. And if it doesn't work, easily removable.
