Yes! Egg 8 is frustrating me. Blue eggs are so annoying. I imagine it'll be even worse with maran eggs...

Halfway to lockdown ?!
I can no longer see veins in the brown eggs and they were replaced by dark blobs. I hope that's a good sign.

Surprisingly only one of my blue eggs is too dark to see in. Ooh I didn’t even think about maran eggs! I wonder if they typically just let them go.

I've seen several people say they're impossible to candle and they just let them be.

I intend to get Marans and not being able to candle them will drive me nuts.

So, I couldn't wait any longer . . . I gave in . . . I candled 12 eggs, Pot's 7 and the 5 'bantam' eggs that looked good a few days ago. The results are, well . . . see for yourselves

You're clearly doing a great job with the Bantams!

They just started laying when I collected those, so I'm shocked they were actually fertilized. This will be first time hatching bantams . I seriously hope they make it.

My goal is to not to have to buy chicks. I will probably buy chicks rather than hatching eggs for the first batch though.
