I might end up needing too! I didnt post for anyone to help me name cause my boys were so excited to get to pick some names. So far they haven’t thought of many but I’m sure it will be easier once they see what we have. I candled two days ago and it appears I still have 20/20 set . Two are maybes (one very dark egg but I see a couple big veins, and the other is a big chick big veins but looks like it’s only on one side of the egg so I’m not to sure about it)

Unless they're teenagers, your boys will come up with the best names once they see the babies. They'll also likely claim them .... hopefully not all the same one.

I understand caponization is an old skill that is still practiced in scattered places. Cookie, for instance is at a prime age for the surgery.

I've thought about that so I can keep more males or not have to cull so many before 12 weeks. But I would need someone to walk me through it a few times.

Eggs went into lockdown tonight and I got one more chance to candle all of them .

All 27 look pretty good, I'm just not sure about the spot on this one.

Also exciting is when I went to close up the incubator the last time before hatch I heard some cheeping.

So exciting! I wonder if it's an internal pip? From what I understand you shouldn't be able to hear chicks peep until they break the membrane unless the egg is pressed against your ear.

I've had both of the chicks I've ever hatched pip externally at the end of day 18 and fully come out at day 19. Maybe your chicks are doing that @african chickens . I hope that happens to me this hatch so I dont need to wait another 2 days!

Has it stopped raining yet? I need some encouragement to make it through the next 4-5 days
