Main Challenge: Frame within a Frame
Extra Challenge: Found in Nature
This week, the Main Challenge is Frame within a Frame.
It all starts with your camera's viewfinder, which gives you a window for framing your shot. We're taking it a step further by adding a SECOND frame within that widow to really draw attention to your subject. And that second frame can be anything: architecture (eg. windows, doors, and archways), reflections (eg. mirrors and puddles), or objects (eg. picture frames, tires, and trellises). As cliche as it sounds, the only limit is your imagination!
A Few Ground Rules:
- Keep the content BYC friendly.
- It should be an image that you take THIS WEEK. Don't drag out old photos for this. The idea is to work on developing or improving a different skill each challenge.
- Lastly, please specify if you would like constructive feedback or are just looking to share.
This week, the Extra Challenge is Found in Nature.
A lot of the main challenge examples I gave are man-made, but some of the most striking frames can be found in the great outdoors. A grouping of clouds that encircle a clear sky, a gap between tree trunks, or a few strategically draped branches can all offer an organic take on the frame within a frame challenge.
