Full disclosure, I love math.

In Jersey, I got 100% in all of my math classes. Then I moved to Ohio. I think it was Medina that I chose to take a class because I was bored (Ohio is two years behind N.J. All four OH schools I attended my Jr and Sr years!). BAM! Zero, twenty, zero, zero... one sixty percent. The teacher said I wasn’t trying. I thought it was the different curriculum.

Educational systems and teachers make a big difference.

My sister lived in Colorado for a few years and her DD was a C student. When they moved to Alabama her daughter was suddenly a straight A student. Did crossing the state lines make her smarter...nope.

Yada yada, and a lot of I was in school for two and a half hours a day. Once I left, I wasn’t allowed to return to school property until the next day. That meant I couldn’t get help from the teacher. My “refusal” to seek her help enraged her, and caused her to openly humiliate me. Despite explaining the problem, she didn’t know I was serious. It was her first year, and she refused to write me a pass to return.
