Haha, big old Oldsmobile Ninety eight.I just passed this car on Sepulveda Blvd on the way home this afternoon. I was driving and couldn't get a picture, but "El Pollo Grande" is a fixture in Santa Monica so there are plenty of pics online.
Here's the story:

I relate to this. My first car was a '67 Mustang, black with turquoise vinyl seats. It looked very stock, but I was the second owner and I bought it from my dad's friend, who was a narcotics agent. It was his undercover "narc car." It had been in plenty of car chases and instead of the usual 289 it had a 390, plus non-standard shocks and other features. As a high-schooler, I had a hotter car than any of the guys I dated. They don't make cars that fun anymore. I remember stalling out at lights, having the windshield wipers fly off, and having a tire nearly come off (other cars refused to get too close to us, which was a tip-off). Then there were the vinyl seats, vents in the front windows, and cigarette ashtrays which made for great places to hide kid treasures, since none of us smoked.
