BYC's Random Funny Posting Thread! Hosts Mike & Sally

I should have put a disclaimer. DD didn't do that, it was a joke I heard.
She might think it but I don't think she would say it.:)
My kids would never call me an idiot.....but they absolutely think I am a snail when it comes to keeping current with tech. It has been a source of levity in the home for years. I recall when the son was a teen, there was a huge "hacking" incident on an international level. When it broke on the news, I popped my head into his room with a smile and asked, "do YOU know anything about this"? (was joking, of course, but only halfway...his knowledge and skillset was/is scary.) 🤨

Even though I use them as work I consider myself a 'Techno-Peasant'.
I'm trying to retire completely before AI takes over.
Yes. I hear.
My youngest’s job is heavy on data analytics/analysis. Thankfully, she also directs regional meetings and has heavy contact regarding day to day operations of various facilities. She’s already seen integration of AI in her field - some positive, and other not so much. It’s definitely hitting every industry, and accelerating.

Yes, new isn't always better.
I left HVAC 25+ years ago and I was talking about changes in the field with a contractor.
He said he put in a thermostat system that worked completely off WIFI.
I told him that sounded great, but what happens if the WIFI goes down. He said "Well I didn't say it was a GOOD system." :lau
