Try one of the LEGO starter sets. They're a blast to play with, a hit for pretty much anyone who sees them ... and every LEGO City accessory set is compatible to scale. We actually display ours every year at our local Family Train Day. It's this Saturday, 1/10, so my living room is currently a module-construction zone!

It's currently packed away in boxes, but now that youngest DD has moved out, I'm claiming her room!

Yay! I would love a spare room but unfortunately we downsized a few years ago. I have a miniature village collection that I'd love to put out all year. I can't even find room to put it all out for the holidays.
I usually put it away before the end of December but we just had the last of our holiday guests so I will start putting it away this weekend. This part is on our 54 x 84 kitchen island. I have three other smaller areas too. I will be happy to be able to use the island again.
