BYC's Random Funny Posting Thread! Hosts Mike & Sally

It's 32 degrees and snowing, for me personally.
That's because you very sensibly live in the beautiful Rim Country, not down here on the desert floor like us peasants. I wish I got up there more often. Knoll Lake is one of my favorite places for swimming.

It's a cold mountain lake so I have to wear a shortie wet suit, and there's a lot of fishing line so I have to strap on a diving knife, but it is gorgeous and one of my favorite places to use a monofin (I don't use one in the ocean because I'm afraid I'll look like a nice juicy seal to some shark 😬). The campground is good, too. Large, spread out sites and clean bathrooms, nice ranger staff. That campground was the first place I ever heard an elk trumpet! I thought it was someone badly playing a clarinet. 😆

Yay! I would love a spare room but unfortunately we downsized a few years ago. I have a miniature village collection that I'd love to put out all year. I can't even find room to put it all out for the holidays.
I usually put it away before the end of December but we just had the last of our holiday guests so I will start putting it away this weekend. This part is on our 54 x 84 kitchen island. I have three other smaller areas too. I will be happy to be able to use the island again.View attachment 4279900View attachment 4279901

I love it! I've always wanted a Christmas village of my own. We had one when I was a kid, it was very fragile cardboard but very nicely decorated. Each building had a hole in the back where you could put in a light from a Christmas tree light string and the entire town lit up. It was beautiful. I don't know what happened to it after I moved out.
