Just as Covid was about to flare up in mid-March '20, I was at work with the sniffles from seasonal allergy. Everyone looked at me like I was Typhoid Mary.

I thought I had broken my foot so my mother took me to the urgent care and while we were signing in she was chatting with the receptionist and casually mentioned allergies, you would have thought my mother just admitted to being an axe murderer from the way that woman kicked us out limp and all into the parking lot. No amount of pleading or explaining would convince her that my mother just had allergies. I'm sure some people were using that as an excuse unfortunately but I still suffer from foot pain because I went untreated over my mother's allergies.

I would always be asked if I had any contact with someone with Covid.
I would have to tell them "Of course I did. Several every night. I'm a Covid nurse."
They would just shake their head and wave me past.
