My Black Australorop rooster had to go today.. My hubby took my 16month old out to see the chickens and he jumped on her and started pulling her hair!! Hubby rang his neck, now no more rooster..

I only have my Brahma left. I guess its okay though, since the 'Lorp kept pulling the Brahmas tail feathers out.. he has a sunburn butt

Good for your hubby! I cannot tolerate nasty animals around because I also have a young child, but I wouldn't have the stomach to do the deed myself unless seriously provoked. I think that may have been provocative enough. Nothing like the sight of your baby being attacked to bring out the bear in parents. I hope your little one was OK and not too badly scared by the incident.

Yeah, shes okay... little bit shocked, has some scratches and such..but other wise okay.. We had been wanting to get rid of him for a while, but the lady who came to get him came and took a polish roo instead so we still had him... Something about big black roosters!! I had a BJG that attacked my then 3 year old only once he hung on he didn't let go.. she got pretty scratched up... When we butcher, I am the one that has to do it because my hubby dosen't like to kill things.. so I was amazed that he came in an told me what he did..
