C. Maran or Dom?

Last year I decided this was a Cuckoo Marans roo. But earlier this week someone visiting my property said he's a Dominique.

Who's right? (And don't tell me it's PBR) Well you can if it really is one.

Lots of folks confuse Doms and barred rocks, they don't realize there are two breeds. Barred rocks have single combs, Doms have rose combs. So, not a Dom. I'm not a marans person, I'll let someone else chime in there.

IMHO BRs and CMs look alot alike. I'm saying CM.

BRs and black sex link roosters, as well as Dominiques, have yellow legs. That one has way light legs for either of those. Some people call any barred bird a "Dominecker", a term I really don't care for.

Aside from the leg color, there's also the white in his tail. . . Cuckoo Marans commonly seem to have that trait.

And no, he's no Dominque. Dominiques have rose combs.

He has a single comb.
