Samosa is one of our new pullets and she was “snapping at the air” earlier this morning, like literally trying to eat the air? Has she gone crazy or is this a sign that she’s sick? I’ve never seen a chicken do this.

Can she hold her head in a normal position or is it stuck like that? How long has she been doing it for?
If it was just a one off thing and she can easily hold her head in a normal spot she probably just snapped at a small fly or dust particle

Yes she seems to be snapping at dust. Is that a normal thing? 😂

I’ll try and cut it shorter. She’s been here only a few days and not used to being handled so i didn’t want to push her with the scissors. I cut off enough so that she could actually see lol. Thought it would help to stop the bullying, maybe if she saw him coming she would stick up for herself. But no. Had to put him outside with the existing flock and now he’s been pecking them. I know the pecking order has to be established but bullying pullets into not even letting them eat is taking it a bit too far for me. He gets a week and if things don’t improve, he’ll go back to where he came from.
