Hi All,

I've got a sick rooster (pale/limp comb and lethargic). He's got black spots on his comb. I checked for lice and mites under his wings and feet but couldn't find anything...

Suggestions would be nice. Thank you

Paleness means anemia. So he's low on red blood cells, so he needs Heme Iron to restore it's levels.
The black spots are from other birds pecking him.

What's his diet like? This is just to rule out certain things.

He free ranges and gets a pellet feed in the morning and evenings

Since comb color is influenced by hormones any type of illness could be causing the pale comb. I agree the black specks are likely from other birds pecking him.

Also do you give treats, & how often?

Meadow feeds grower pellets (it's technically for broilers buts it's the closest I can get for teenage chickens)

I don't give treats other than the random passionfruit or a fallen papaya

First time I've heard of the feed, & I can't find information on it's nutrients, nor protien level.

Broiler feed is fine to feed at any stage, they could stay on it for life actually.

I'm not sure how to get that into percentage. The feed the way it's measured with protien for US pounds wound be 396.832lbs.(180kg).
So not sure how to get the percentage.
