*Warning*

Even though cabbage is great, it contains a chemical that hiders hormone growth, thus, reduce fertility in eggs. I know this through Mr. David Rogers. He's very great with his birds diets he doesn't recommend feeding cabbage to your birds if they are producing and want fertile eggs.

For more info, you can e-mail or PM me.

I will give my birds a head of cabbage maybe once a month or so, especially during winter, since they have no access to greens for almost 6 months a year. I have never had a problem with fertility. The one time I gave them red cabbage their poops were fluorescent green/blue the next day! I also give them meat whenever I have it left over. It may sound horrible, but they LOVE picking the carcass of a roasted chicken absolutely clean. I don't think it is any different than feeding them chopped hard-boiled eggs. What I find nasty is what those birds do to mice they catch! The poor things are still alive while they are playing football with them!

Cabbage has been said to decrease fertility in eggs and s* production in the roosters, but have anyone paid close attention to this to actually put the theory to the test?

What is certain is that cabbage has goitrogen. The suppose to reduce hormone production.

Have anyone noticed change in fertility in eggs after feeding lots of cabbage to their chickens?

This info will greatly help me, you, and the pretty much everyone else!!!

Give me your results and I will map this out to figure out of its worth feeding our chickens cabbage during breeding season...shall we?

Thanks in Advance
