please can you tell me if it is ok to feed my hens cabbage every day, i cook it and mix layers mash with it.

What you are doing is diluting the nutrients in the feed, particularly the protein, as cabbage has none. Like any "treat," it should be limited to 10% of their diet -- at most. And even that is just someone's rule of thumb, someone's estimate of what they will tolerate.

Yes, it's ok. I often buy a cabbage and hang it up like a tetherball - it keeps them amused for hours!
