Is it 110V or 220V ?? If it has light bulbs inside it, take one out and check what the V is one the light bulbs..

It sounds like it might be a Jamesway .. very good machines..

The element is a long metal one in a metal frame, no bulbs. It works on direct power, the fan works, the old wafer therm is shot.

I'm ordering another one at the beginning of next month. Just buying this killed my bank account but I could NOT pass it up, I'd have died.

I'm going to replace the old power cord with one with a ground.

It's all actually 115 v which is very old and kind of neat.

The fan is very heavy duty, runs well.

So I have to fiddle with the wiring box, get a new therm and replace the power cord, more for safety than need.

But it all appears otherwise ready to rock. It says BROWER in big letters on the front and has a patent plate attached to it. So soon I'll have it up and running, just wish I could afford the thermostat now. Power cords are easy to get cheap off used appliances at the Good Will.

Yay.......

Okay I may have found a snippet that suggests that this Brower was made for Montgomery Ward in that period. Which may make the whole thing a Leahy? Gotta find the Leahy guy....
