Thanks for the replies everyone. I saw the turner from meyer, but I thought it was just the motor. I saw an auto turner on the homemade bator page using a car antena. I really liked the idea, but when I searched the timer to make it work they were like $100 and by the time I build the racks it would of been the same price to just buy one. On the bright side I found a similar timer at Wal-Mart for $20. Looks like it will work for what I need it to do. Doing a lot of research before I actually buy anything and start putting it together. The proofer is so larger that I am going to make to bators inside of it. I am going to use the top half for waterfowl and the bottom for quail and other poultry. Will post some pics when it is all complete.

I would try to maybe use 6v transformers to slow the antenna speed down... I stepped mine down to 9 volts and would still like it a little slower.

To answer your question about speed versus continuous rotation. Most, of the smaller egg turners for incubators do turn on a continual rotation. The speed is regulated to around 24rpd, or one turn per hour, 24 turns per day.

The volvo wipermotor will probably last forever. It will probably also run on voltage less than 12vdc, how much lower before damage I dont have a clue. Lowering the voltage should reduce the rpms it turns. Lowering the voltage will also reduce the torque it will produce, but even at 6vdc, it should have more than enough power to turn one tray of eggs.

How many turns the tray needs to make a day is debateable, but commercial hatcheries turn their eggs, 24 times a day, or once per hour. The rotation is continual so the trays are never completely at a stand still.

Would you mind telling me what all the parts are that you used and possibly instructions on how you did this, we got a incubator that has no turner and we want to make it where the 3 trays turn. Ty
