Cabot Arkansas- what are the rules?

Hi everyone,

I've been reading the forums for a bit, but just registered to post stuff today. We are moving to Cabot later this year and plan to add some chickens to the family in the spring. For the life of me, I cannot find the rules regarding chickens in Cabot, eg how many am I allowed to have on what space etc. I did find that animal control restricts the number of animals to four within city limits. Does that inlcude chickens? We already have three dogs, so I am wondering if the dream of chickens is even possible. I certainly would not want just one lonley chicken.

There may not be any rules. See your AC in person, and ask for the regs in writing. Do not trust what they say. AC is notorious for not knowing the regs. Good luck

Thanks! Of course I really don't understand what all that really means
We are also considering two other locations, Austin and Lonoke, neither one is listed in the search on this site, and I could not find any info on them anywhere else, but they seem more rural than Cabot so I am assuming that I am allowed to keep chickens. I'll contact the city/county to find out for sure.
