I think my roosters got frostbite on his foot and is now wet gangrene… It started as swollen and limping to now one toe looks dead with skin flaking off, bruising, and smells bad! I’ve soaked, wrapped, cleaned, vetmycin, and am giving antibiotics. Any advice???

Welcome To BYC

Can you take some photos?

Where are you located in the world?

A bad smell is concerning, what antibiotic are you giving, the name of the product and dosing?

Wrapping may be making it worse, hard to know, try leaving those off and keep the rooster on clean dry bedding.

I’ve been giving cephalexin. I have not taken it to the vet and I’m really not thinking I will, I love them but I would have to drive a ways to an exotic vet. He is eating and drinking and sassy
