cackle hatchery good bad?

does anybody know anything about cackle hatchery? i wana get some turkeys and they are the only place ive found that will let me order as few as 5 turks as long as i order some chicks to flesh out the order, and i was gona get the bantam assortment but i worry cuz ive never goten an assortment before do the really mix it up or do they just give you left overs?

Overall, I was happy with my order from Cackle, as have been several others on here. The good is that their chickens were nice quality and the service was pretty good. The bad is that I had to wait to months on my first order. I ordered two months apart and recieved them 5 days apart. And the color was off on the Bourbon Red turkeys I ordered, some were more of a Buff color than Red. I also did what you are saying and ordered only 10 turkeys and filled the rest with chicks.

Here is a pair of turkeys from Cackle, the tom is good and red, but the hen is a light buff, she has now been culled from my flock.

We ordered a hatchery surprise last year that included 2 large white turkeys. We didn't have any problems with them and they were delicious!

I order from them last year buff orps and EEs. They took awhile to ship them, 2 changes in the dates, but they were all healthy.

I got my Yokahamas, Royal Palms, & Blue Slates from Cackle. They have good birds, & it's my hatchery of choice.

I've always had good luck with Cackle.
They have been super busy the last couple of years. I used to be able to order chicks and have them shipped that day or in a couple of days.
Those days are gone now.

i really like cackle, all the problems with getting through to them are fixed, they just grew faster than they could hire phone help and install phone lines! but even with the getting theough over the phone trouble last year, the customer service was excellent! the birsd were of very very good quality and ive never once had a problem with shipping or dead birds. and this year i had no problem getting through, 2 rings and i was through and the girl was so nice answered every question i had. i love the selection of birds, a really good variety , and good prices too. i just really like them, ive tried others, had some good experiences, and some very very bad, so cackle is my go to place for all my birds.
