Their list on TSC has included non-rares! They don’t guarantee any rares at all through the site, which may differ from what they offer through their own I think. But honestly some of the ones I’m sold on being barreds (very yellow feet) are absolute angels so I’m happy!

Yes, I do! Hubby is learning fast how good I am at chicken math. I’m hoping to compare the two hatcheries to see what varities seem most varied. Since we’re keeping for companionship and eggs, it will be nice to tell as many of them apart as possible and learn through trial and error what breeds tend to be the friendliest.

Next year, you may want to try the rainbow basket variety from Ideal. You order in groups of 5, and for each group, you get 1 white egg layer, one blue/green egg layer, 2 light brown egg layers, and 1 dark brown layer. So guaranteed at least 4 different breeds of the 5 in the group (the two light browns could potentially be the same breed).

That’s so cool! A bunch of differently colored eggs would be a blast. I’ll definitely look into them next year.

Haha it definitely felt like I got the “leftovers” from Hoover’s but it worked out so nicely since we’re still working on our huge coop. It will be done in plenty time for this next batch from Cackle to be 6 weeks! Win some lose some, but they’re a bunch of sweeties. I’m just hoping we got around 8 females at least since 10 were supposed to be sexed.

Our next order will be for 4/30 instead and likely arrive on my birthday. Way too excited to see what I get from Cackle!

Got the confirmation for 5/1-5/3 arrival and I am so excited. Can't wait to see what's in the order! There's so much out of stock for them right now (understandably) so hoping it won't have to be pushed back if it's more of a 'leftovers' situation (which would also be understandable if that's how they fill these orders).

Today’s the big day! Got my tracking number earlier. Almost everything on the rare page was completely out for today’s date so will be interesting if available quantity reflects what goes in the boxes or if they account for extras just to go in the boxes. Can’t wait to see the babies!

I got gold and silver spitzhaubens, white, buff laced, and silver laced polish, sultans, mottled houdans, and some crested mutts that they may send as well. A nice variety! There is also tons more stuff you can get.

Wow, thank you so very much! I was worried 10 chicks each surprise wouldn’t be enough for a huge variety but everything I’m seeing suggests there is. Love it! I can’t wait for June for them. I’ve heard that it can take some work to get a flock to accept a Polish or Spitz roo since hens can pick on them, but they tend to make really nice docile ones.

Hoo boy. Shipping says it'll arrive... Monday. The 5th. I've read a lot saying the tracking #s for USPS can be super mega off though (they weren't on my first order) so trying to keep calm about it.
