Cackle Hatchery Shipping?

I order 100-200 chicks from cackle every year and have never had ANY problems with their service or their birds. I buy cockerels and feed them to finish. The birds are healthy and fast growing, I lose very few of them and the hatchery includes alot of extras, so the overall bird quality is Good, as hatchery birds go..BUT, I can say without a doubt, they are definitely NOT a show quality bird...I think every showman/women dreams of a national qualifier or state meet in which all the birds in the class are from a hatchery, with the exception of your own. But I don't think hatcheries are in the business of show wins...I may be wrong...

Cackle is the only hatchery that I will buy from because there birds look like what there supposed to when there adults, unlike the other 2 big name hatcheries...
I dont know if any one has seen this but Ill post it here for you all to see..

There the third largest supplier of chicks to individuals, feed stores and hobby farms.

As of 2000 there breeder flocks are raised and put into production on about 75 different farms through-out the surrounding area of Cackle Hatchery.
This was on there site,
"Our breeder flocks are placed on flock owner farms throughout the surrounding area. Each flock owner specializes in chicks, waterfowl, bantams, turkeys, etc. Before hatching season the flocks are blood tested and culled. Cackle hatchery's goal is to get vigorous healthy chicks to you, our customer. On hatch day, weather conditions are closely monitored so that we pack the shipment to ensure safe arrival through the United States post Office right to your home. We currently ship over 100,000 birds weekly to all of our retail customers and wholesale feed stores customers throughout the United States right here from our 25,000 square foot hatchery facility in Missouri."

I have ordered hundreds of birds from them in the past and will continue to do so. I have always had a great experience with their birds as well as their customer service. They did have a glitch in their computer system last year and that was resolved quickly but not before they accidentally shipped me 112 extra birds! HAHA I called them immediately about it and they were very kind and apologized for the issue. This happened because I placed an order for 100 of one breed and changed my order a week later to a different breed. This is something you can no longer do without a charge. The packing slip boldly stated that the changed was made but whoever packed my birds didn't read the slip properly and shipped my order as well as the canceled order all at once. It was shocking at first but I gathered up the brooder materials quickly and all was well. Cackle is a wonderful hatchery.

As for shipping info you should have received an email but if you didn't then by all means give them a call with your info and they will be more than happy to answer your questions and let you know exactly when they will ship.

all i can sayis...i love cackle hatchery, they are the only hatchery i buy from, and once again, as i said in a previous post............i just cant believe you read bad posts about cackle. im really really surprised.

I am waiting and hoping to have a good experience with them.

I placed a small order with them for one of their "city pullet specials" for 5 birds. I could have easily met their minimums for a larger order but I have already gotten the majority of breeds I wanted elsewhere.

Long story short, they canceled my first order six days after it was placed because for some reason it didn't go in as a pullet special but instead just as a small order (they have a 15 bird minimum just like many others unless you do the special). They didn't try calling me... They just canceled the order.

I immediately responded to their e-mail AND placed the order again making sure it showed up properly on the checkout as the "city pullet special $45" and expected some sort of confirmation of the order. It still hasn't come on day 3. Of course, I didn't get an e-mail confirming the first order either- just the cancellation 6 days later. I also e-mailed and asked for a reply because I need to plan for when my birds will be shipped since I work FAR from home 3 days a week. Nothing as a reply from them yet.
