In terms of price these two are the same for what I want-Cuckoo Marans, Dominiques, EEs, Australorps, and BOs.

Is one better than the other in terms of any of these breeds? Better service? Any suggestions?

I have ordered from Cackle most resently. They have friendly customer service, and I camre out better in price because the shipping was cheaper for me. That could have been because of the distance they traveled though. The shipping from Murray was quite a bit higher for me. Figure the shipping to see where you would come out best.

Generally the closer the hatchery, the better for the chicks so they're not in transit any longer than absolutely necessary. I don't know anything about Meyer, but my friend ordered bantam frizzles from Cackle (didn't have them shipped; she drove to pick them up), and they're beautiful. She then went back and got a GLW, SLW, BO, JG, BA, LB, and an EE (and a plus -- a blue slate turkey poult!). They are all very, very nice birds, and with the exception of the turkey's rough start (touch and go for a while) and one frizzle hen's crop bound incident, they've been healthy and true to form (maybe not show stock quality of each specimen, but not rejects or obvious genetic defects -- just normal looking, healthy birds that look like the breed they're supposed to be!).

ETA: The birds are 2 1/2 years old now, and are doing great.

The turkey has had a respiratory illness a time or two, but she's doing great too, and thinks she's just a big chicken.

I drove down and picked up from Cackle and was very impressed by their operation. Their chicks were all vigorous, happy, and well cared for. We bought Easter Egger chicks from them and they've grown into beautiful hens who are also excellent layers. We gave away my second and third choices of our original 5 deferring to my wife's top 2 picks. I bet they're just as beautiful as the two we kept. I'd buy from them again in second if something happened to one of our hens.

That is one beautiful hen ( the 1st one) you have there. I got mine from Cackle and they were pretty but I think yours have got mine beat in a beauty contest.
