cackling hens

My girls are 20 weeks old, the last few days their behavior has changed. The seem a little restless and seem to be making alot of noise (no crowing just alot of cackling). Is this prelaying behavior??

Could very well be. My ladies get very chatty during egg-laying time. In fact, they're going off right now. And at 20 weeks, your girls should be laying soon.
