cage mounted bottle waterers

Very new to this. I've had two chickens for about two hours. My question: can pullets, four months old, use those ball in a tube water bottles that hang on the outside of a small animal cage. Thanking you for your information, John

the best thing that I would do is try it. It's surprising what chickens can an can't do.

Those are great for hamsters but bad for chickens. You can use nipples or a float valve cup like this:

I use a big one for small dogs, like this one... The chickens drink out of it when I fill it up but I always have another bigger regular waterer as my primary waterer. ( It's hanging from my coop at the bottom corner thee )
