Hey all!
Still gathering information before I get my first chickens. I always read about oyster shells for extra calcium. Can you use clam shells as well? A restaurant i go to has a huge amount they throw away and i wondered if I could put some to good use.
Thanks!

I sure don't know why not. Calcium carbonate and few other minerals and organics.

Between the calcium that is in the layer feed and re-feeding egg shells, most folks don't have any concerns, but if you are feeding a flock raiser type feed then additional calcium is essential.

Any plan on how you are going to pulverize them?
