See a few folks posting their builds here as well as the coop section, so here's mine. About 4 weekends of 3 hour stretches (toddler naptime) and I'm nearly done. The one advantage of California weather...the chicks are out of the house in a month!

Hi danrhodes - nice coop! I have a few questions - is there any protection on the bottom of your coop - did you line it with hardware cloth? Or bury anything down along the edges? You mention you don't have many predators, but I've read too many posts that say that then find out the heartbreaking way that they do. You don't think you have them until you put free pickin's in your yard! Plus, anything can rip through chicken wire, it's main purpose is to keep chickens out of places you don't want them, not protect them. You should invest in a game cam - you can get a good one for under $80. I'm thinking you didn't bury anything because you might have to move it. I bet in a few weeks you will see your neighbors watching your chicken TV! Let us know how you do with them. Being in NJ, I do envy your Cali weather!

Thanks! I know I should have used hardware cloth, but the chicken wire was $5 on Craigslist, so I couldn't pass it up. May reinforce it later and bury some as well if letting them in and out of the coop becomes too much of a pain.

I don't really need a game cam...I can see the coop from my bedroom and living room.
