Can you calibrate a brinsea spot check thermometer or you need to send it out

Sorry, I know nothing about incubators, only having experience with hatches under a broody hen.

I'd suggest contacting Brinsea directly - they are usually good at responding.

That thermometer has a probe so yes, you can calibrate it. But it has a very narrow reading range to be aware of. You need to be around incubating temperature.

You can contact Brinsea to see if they calibrated it but you can also do it yourself. Get a thermometer you can trust, one that has been calibrated, maybe a medical thermometer. Get a glass of warm water around incubation temperature and put both in that. See how they compare.

Wal mart three dollars won't find more accurate for the money . I don't like oral thermometers you have to shake the down .I've broken several and now the ones with mercury are hard to find and when you do they arn't cheap .Go to walmart get of these for calibrating. Its made for aquariums .buy a couple incase you break one .
