I was a little concerned a week or so back that my turkey poults weren't growing fast enough, and I was afraid that the food carried by the feed store wasn't high enough in protein.
I found some 26% gamebird starter at another feed store and now am giving them that. They have really grown a lot in the past week. I think this was important for their long-term health.
They will be strictly pets and will not be eaten, so actually I guess if they are on the smaller side it might be good. But I didn't want to risk some type of problem with insufficient protein.
Also, I have cut back on the greens -- they really go nuts for them, and I know the vitamins in them are good, but they are more or less empty calories otherwise.
