California Fires

My goodness friends - I just cannot stop thinking about these terrible fires that have obliterated whole towns in so many areas. I just wanted to send my love and prayers out there - in general but with relevance to our group - for the chickens and their owners who have had to lose or transport your flocks. Sending lots of love and wanted you all to know we are all thinking of you.

I agree and will definitely have those folks and critters in my prayers along with those who are still having problems in NC and TN from the hurricanes.

I've been keeping a close eye on the news because the fires are very close to where I used to live. Already have seen several videos of individuals rescuing trapped animals even after having just lost everything themselves. Hoping things begin to look better out there.

Thank you for your prayers. I live in Pasadena, California a few blocks from the mandatory evacuation area and the fires. The devastation to so many families near me is immense. We were placed on high alert and told to be ready to evacuate if needed -- but not in the mandatory evacuation area. We are told not to drink the water and bottled water only for now. I have been filling my chicken waterers with bottled water and have kept a close eye on my flock. So far I have not seen any signs of respiratory issues but I am not sure of the extent of water contamination. So scary!
