California Greys???

Pics
You are right.

That is probably a Barred Plymouth Rock in the picture.
What we talked about in the other thread would be a good update to this one. To others who've been staying with this thread, I was under the impression that what was originally used to establish this breed was still used to this day (the Barred Rock rooster x White Leghorn hen). Apparently this is an actual breed, not a titled hybrid of sorts. Bullitt and I chatted about this on another thread. So that may mean that rearing chicks from a good standard rooster and hen of this breed will produce the same offspring. If anyone can find more historical information on CA Grays, your contribution would be appreciated.

Right. And your chickens should not look like the Barred Rock in that picture. :)

I would like to see the California Gray become more popular and be recognized by the APA.

Hey, Lee Van Cleef was the "ugly" in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Or was he the bad? :)

He's a good looking rooster.
Lee was "the bad". Lol. He's actually very good with his hens, which is most important to me. He is aggressive to other humans though. Not too bad with me though. he appreciated the compliment. I picked him out of six cockerels I had.
