California Quail egg price?

I see an ad on craigslist for California Quail eggs for $1 a piece.... hadnt thought about getting those but now I'm thinking of maybe hatching some.. is that a good price?

Bumped so maybe someone will answer?? Also now there are RIngneck pheasant eggs for .50 a piece...... I need to stop looking on craigslist! LOL

Its not illegal to own CVQ in California, as long as you can prove they came from a federally licensed breeder, in otherwords a 3-186 form. You also will need a domestic game breeders license for CA, you can obtain that from the CA DFG.

As far as $1 per egg, that sounds about the average.

You can also pick-up day olds from a breeder in Alamo for $2 a piece.
